Community SeniorServ provides home delivered meals to 1200 home bound isolated seniors per day in Orange County. Along with home delivered meals we offer home safety, case management, congregate meals, friendly visitors and adult daycare. All of the services we provide are designed to keep the client in their home as long as possible therefore, maintaining their independence and well being. Our congregate meals are served Monday-Friday at the senior centers and community centers in the 26 cities in Orange County that we serve. Our friendly visitor program involves a short training after which the volunteer is matched with a client living in or near the same city as the volunteer. After the two have been matched, the volunteer contacts the client directly to set up their meetings. A friendly visitor normally spends about 1 hour per week in the home of the client. These visits might include reading, walking, scrapbooking, reminiscing, sharing photos, sharing stories etc. The friendly visitor is not responsible for doing chores, helping the client go to the restroom or driving the client to and from appointments.
